24 hour vertigo

A trip to the bottom right hand corner of England between Christmas and the new year was supposed to have us conquering four peaks in Surrey, Kent and East and West Sussex. Ambitious yes, doable yes. Add wine and an afternoon tea and all plans blown out of the water.
One of the party who shall remain nameless found herself with a severe case of 24 hour vertigo which renders one incapacitated. You won't find this condition in medical tomes but I believe you all know what I'm talking about and it sums the condition up beautifully. George and I had to leave the sufferer at home and abort the mission to Leith Hill and Betsom Hill, luckily my brother Damon and nephew Michael were close at hand to tackle Blackdown in West Sussex.

Coming in at 280 metres it's not much of a challenge and in actual fact we started half way up.
There were patches of snow lying around. It is a lovely walk especially listening to the wind in the trees, a favourite of Lord Tennyson. The views are superb.

I'm already losing count, I think we're at 9 down so still some hills to climb.

Our next challenge was driving to Cornwall without falling asleep. Farewell to the Southeast, we'll have to be back...
